For some peculiar reason, whenever I address a health issue and my male friends are present, the discussion is quickly redirected to another subject as they try to avoid the discussion. I recently encountered the same phenomenon and one of my friends responded that men are feeling guilty of making mistakes when it comes to their health. From forgetting to eat their daily fruit and veggies indulging in a hamburger of French fries, to scheduling an appointment with the doctor only when the symptoms they have been experiencing for weeks intensify, men feel guilty for not taking care of their health and try to avoid any type of discussion that reminds them of that fact.
If you are familiar with the old story that men do not need to ask for street advice, as they can always find their way, they also generally tend not to seek out help when it comes to their health as they are always capable of surpassing the problem they have been facing and heal themselves. In fact, statistics reveal that women worry more about their health status than men do, and they take more preventative measures to protect it. After conducting my own focus group with some of my male friends, I discovered that this is totally true. Most of them avoid going for their regular check-ups, especially younger men, and decide to pay a visit to the doctor’s office only when something is broken, usually because a woman is present and insists that this is serious and should not be left to chance. Then it is only logical that men have, on average, a shorter life expectancy than women by six years.
But although this can be partly explained due to societal standards that portray men to be strong and touch, this potentially life-threatening health negligence cannot be justified. Enduring pain and being able to overcome any type of problem they face does not seem as an adequate explanation for this type of problematic behavior. The truth is that men tend to view doctor’s visits as uncomfortable and involving potentially painful procedures and in general men are not capable of handling or enduring pain. While women are biologically capable of handling the pains of a pregnancy they are also more open to discuss health issues and educated themselves regarding the threats associated with their health.
If one only considers the fact that the magazine’s and website’s focus is not on men’s health compared to the women’s health issues discussed, it is only logical to conclude that men’s health does not seem to be a priority either for men or for society. It is not that men do not get sick or are not experiencing signs of weakness from time to time; it is rather that their social role does not permit them to look or express that weakness.

Health professionals need to talk to men about their problems in the sort of language they use and should move primary care into the workplace to make it easier for men to access health services, a debate held by the Mens Health Forum heard. Men currently use healthcare services far less effectively than women, and a recent Cancer Research UK survey found that men are almost 40% more likely than women to die from cancer (info.cancerresearchuk.org

Great Compilation of very important issues concerning the problems with the conduction of Health Care Reform under the current political leadership, and government in general.
To those who don't think all that is worth reading, you might just be an idiot with under developed opinions, because you don't take in enough information to make an informed thought on the subject.

No, They should not be allowed to come to U.S. for treatment. But since U.S. has drugs/medicines for treating this disease, U.S. should give those drugs to those countries where these infected people live and let them be treated there in their own countries.Cost differences in donating medicines for diseased to be treated in their own countries and allowing diseased to come here and be treated here-at taxpayers expense-is obvious. We should help all those we can, but at the same time we should not be WASTEFUL CHARLATANS-as some of those Doctors appear to be.-considering our U.S. financial/economic mess that we`re in.

China, Saudi Arabia, and quite a few other countries are worse and we've been kissing their butts for years, so why do you care about little Cuba?

What are you asking? My God, that's not a question, that's a sermon.
And it's filled with spelling errors.
Here's the deal- we need health care reform, not misspelled diatribes.

People need to watch out what they eat. For example like fast foods and factory processed foods. Both are totally unhealthy in the caterogies of saturated and trans fat as well as unwanted calories. Many Americans eat these types of foods and without exercise become obese. You maybe skinny but that doesnt nessasarily meen your safe. you can have high blood pressure, high cholesterol and clogged arteries. If you think you are doing bad cut back on the foods you eat and put a variety of Oraganic and Natural foods in your diet such as wheat, grains, vegies, fruits. Also exercise is an important part to put in your regime of staying healthy. Exercise boosts metabolism significantly and also burns fat and puts muscle on you. So try this out and you dont have to worry.

Saturn int he 6th house does not necessarily mean you have health problems. These things can manifest in many different ways, and you say you take care of your health. You don't eat fatty foods. Well, that's Saturn in the 6th house!
Saturn is also the planet of discipline. You are disciplining yourself with your diet ( 6th house ).

Caring about women's issues and supporting feminism are two different things.
Women who are abused still need help. Women who get pregnant and then get abandoned by their boyfriends still need help. Why punish them by ignoring their needs, just to get back at feminists? It's silly.
Also, by deciding to ignore women's issues because the feminists ignore men's issues, aren't you kinda stooping to their level? Wouldn't a more worthy goal be to rise above it and be the bigger person, and not let yourself get dragged down by the sexism and ignorance of "the other side"?
Do right anyways. No matter what they do, do right anyways. Maybe if enough people care about helping *both* sexes, helping disadvantaged boys as well as girls, it will catch on.
